Overview

The token is used to login into MIP VTB SE and to authorize transactions (e.g. payment orders). Therefor an electronic signature is created using a chipcard and a chip card reader.

We have prepared the following descriptions in conjunction with chipcards for you:

  • Installation of the chipcard reader
  • First initialization of a new chipcard
  • Login to MIP VTB SE
  • Signing (authorizing) of transactions
  • Change of chipcard pin
  • Help in case of problems


Cardreader installation

In order to install you cardreader, the following prerequisites must be given:

  • You need a supported cardreader incl. driver CD
  • You have administrative rights on your computer in order to be able to install the cardreader driver
  • You have access rights for the USB port of your computer, to which the cardreader shall be attached
  • JavaScript is activated in your web browser in order to access the card reader

Please follow these steps in order to install the cardreader:

  • Insert driver CD into your computer, open Windows Explorer and click on "X:KOBILTreiberSetup.exe" (use the drive letter of your CD drive instead of "X").
  • Choose "English" as setup language and click on "OK".
  • Disconnect the cardreader device from your computer in case it is already connected and click on "OK".
  • Accept licence terms for the cardreader driver by clicking on "Yes".
  • Choose the installation directory for the chipcard driver and click on "Next".
  • Choose connection type "USB" and click on "Next".
  • Click on "Finish" and connect the cardreader to the USB port of your computer.
  • Select "Programs > KOBIL Systems > KOBIL CT-API > Search for all KOBIL chipcard terminals" in the Windows start menu and check, whether the card reader is displayed in tab "Connections". Please restart your computer in case the cardreader is not displayed and check again, whether the cardreader is displayed then.
  • Select "Programs > KOBIL Systems > KOBIL ZKA-Sig-API > Install Java extentions for ZKA Sig API" in the Windows start menu.
  • If the message "Java extentions for ZKA Sig API are now installed." is displayed, the installation of the cardreader is successfully finished.


Bringing the chipcard into service

In order to bring the chipcard into service you need the following information, which can be obtained from your account manager:

  • chipcard
  • chipcard pin (please open the cover containing the pin code and scratch the pin carefully free using a coin.
  • a successfully installed chipcard reader

In order to bring the chipcard into service please follow these steps, starting at the login screen:

  • Choose security method "Signature (Chipcard)"
  • Enter your user ID
  • Click on "Next", maybe you receive the advice, that an applet shall be executed. Please accept installation of the applet.
  • "Please insert chipcard" is displayed on the screen. Insert your chipcard as far as it will go - the picture face of the chipcard must point to the front and the chip to the bottom.
  • An advice, that the chipcard is used for the first time and that a new pin code have to be set is shown on the screen. Click on "OK".
  • For security reasons the chipcard is protected with a pin code, which have to be entered before each chipcard usage. Enter your pin code at the cardreader and press the green button, if you are asked for it. 
  • For security reasons the initial pin code has to be changed to a value, which is known by yourself only. Please enter a new 6-digit pin code and finalize using the green button, if you are asked to enter a new pin code.
  • To assure a correct entry of the new pin code, the pin code have to be entered a second time. Please enter the new 6-digit pin code again and finalize using the green button.
  • If the message "PIN has been changed, you may proceed to login." is shown, the pin code has been successfully changed.
  • In the next step the chipcard key must be transferred to VTB Bank (EUROPE) SE. Click on "Send public key"
  • An advice appears, saying that the public key is read from the chipcard. Please confirm by clicking on "Next".
  • You are now asked to enter your pin code, please enter your new 6-digit pin code at the cardreader and finalize printing the green button.
  • Confirm that the key shall be sent by clicking on "Next".
  • The confirmation, that the key has been transferred succesfully, is shown. Click on "INI letter".
  • A new window will be opened. Click onto the printer symbol below the VTB logo in order to print the content of the window.
  • Sign the printed document, stamp it - if a stamp is available - and send it to your account manager via post or fax.
  • Your account manager will inform you as soon as he has activated your access to MIP VTB SE and you are able to login. You are not able to use MIP VTB SE unless your access has been activated.

Important advices:

  • The chipcard and the allocated pin code can be obtained from your account manager and will be delivered together in one cover. Please do not separate the chipcard from the pin code to avoid an erroneous assignment of chipcard and pin code.
  • The chipcards do not bear any explicit label. Please avoid to interchange the chipcards. You may mark your chipcard, e.g. by writing your name on it.
  • After having processed the a.m. steps, the chipcard is strictly allocated to you. A new allocation is possible only with support of VTB Bank (EUROPE) SE. Please never try to use a chipcard, which has not been allocated to you.
  • The pin code is meant to protect the chipcard against unauthorized access and will be locked if entered incorrectly several times consecutively. As the pin code of a chipcard can not be unlocked, those cards have to be replaced. Please contact your account manager.


Login

In order to login using the chipcard please follow these steps, starting at the login screen:

  • Choose security method "Signature (Chipcard)"
  • Enter your user ID and click on "Next"
  • "Please insert chipcard" is displayed on the screen. Insert your chipcard as far as it will go - the picture face of the chipcard must point to the front and the chip to the bottom.
  • Enter your pin code at the cardreader and press the green button, if you are asked for it.


Authorization

Many transactions have to be authorized/signed for security reasons. For example you will be prompted to sign using your chipcard to authorize payments. To authorize a transaction please follow these steps:

  • "Please insert chipcard" is displayed on the screen. Insert your chipcard as far as it will go - the picture face of the chipcard must point to the front and the chip to the bottom. Click on "Next".
  • Enter your pin code at the cardreader and press the green button, if you are asked for it.

Important advice:

  • The transaction will be authorized/signed according to the authorization, which has been assigned to you. Additional authorizations/signatures may be necessary before the transaction can be executed.


Change pin code

We recommend to change the pin code immediately in case you feel other persons might have noticed it. Please follow these steps in order to change your pin code, starting at the login screen:

  • Choose security method "Signature (Chipcard)"
  • Enter your user ID and click on "Settings"
  • Click on "Change PIN"
  • Enter your pin code at the cardreader and press the green button, if you are asked for it.
  • Please enter a new 6-digit pin code and finalize using the green button, if you are asked to enter a new pin code.
  • To assure a correct entry of the new pin code, the pin code have to be entered a second time. Please enter the new 6-digit pin code again and finalize using the green button.
  • If the message "PIN has been changed." is shown, the pin code has been successfully changed.


Help in case of problems

In case of problems concerning the chipcard please contact VTB Bank (EUROPE) SE. Please find an overview of the most common problems below:

An advice is displayed on the screen or the card reader, saying that the chipcard is blocked.

  • the chipcard pin has been entered incorrectly several times consecutively and therefor has been locked for security reasons.
  • the chipcard has to be exchanged against a new one, please contact your account manager.

It is not possible to login or to authorize/sign transactions without any obvious reason.

  • Please assure, that you are using your own chipcard. You may mark your chipcard, e.g. by writing your name on it.

Your token has been stolen or you can not find it anymore.

  • Please notify your account manager or the MIP VTB SE helpdesk immediately in order to lock your chipcard and avoid unauthorized usage. The chipcard can be activated again in the future.

In the future the chipcard shall be used by another participant.

  • The chipcard has to be assigned to the new participant, the current chipcard pin is absolutely essential. Please contact your account manager.

The chipcard pin is not findable anymore.

  • As the pin code of a chipcard can not be resetted, those cards have to be replaced. Please contact your account manager.
